privacy policy
scivia GmbH takes data protection seriously. This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit scivia.ch, for what purpose, and what rights you have. It is written to be read, not merely published.
The short version: this website has no shop, no advertising, no profiling and no marketing tools. Data is processed for three reasons only: to deliver the website technically, to answer your messages, and to understand in aggregate how the site is used. The third happens only with your consent.
Controller scivia GmbH, Zielstrasse 25, 9050 Appenzell, Switzerland info@scivia.ch
This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/revDSG). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to visitors from the EU/EEA, the rights described below apply accordingly.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland. When you visit the site, Infomaniak's servers automatically record technical data in log files: IP address, date and time of access, pages retrieved, browser type and operating system, and the referring page. This data is required to deliver the website securely and to diagnose technical faults. It is not merged with other data or used to identify individual visitors, and it is deleted in line with Infomaniak's standard log retention periods. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. All hosting takes place in Switzerland.
Contact form and email
If you contact us through the form or by email, we receive the data you provide: your name, email address, subject and message. Form submissions are transmitted via our hosting provider Infomaniak and delivered to info@scivia.ch. We use this data solely to handle your enquiry and any resulting business relationship. It is not used for marketing and not shared with anyone else. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and to meet statutory retention obligations where they apply.
Web statistics (Metricool) only with your consent
With your consent, this website uses Metricool, an analytics service of Metricool Software S.L., Spain, to understand in aggregate how the site is used: pages visited, approximate location at country/region level, device and browser type, and referring sites. Metricool is loaded only if you accept statistics cookies in the cookie banner; if you decline, no analytics data is collected at all. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings. Metricool processes this data within the EU, see the Metricool Privacy Policy.
Cookies
The site uses technically necessary cookies (for example to store your cookie preferences) and, only with your consent, statistics cookies for Metricool as described above. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the cookie settings and delete cookies in your browser at any time.
No disclosure to third parties
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. Data is disclosed only to the processors named in this policy (Infomaniak for hosting and form delivery, Metricool for consented statistics) or where we are legally required to do so.
No transfer to third countries
Personal data processed through this website remains in Switzerland (hosting) and the EU (statistics, if consented). Switzerland and the EU mutually recognise each other's level of data protection.
Data security
Data transmitted through this website is encrypted in transit (TLS). We protect stored data with appropriate technical and organisational measures against loss and unauthorised access.
Your rights
You have the right to request information about the personal data we process about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You may also object to processing or request that it be restricted. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise these rights, contact info@scivia.ch. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EU/EEA, your local data protection authority.
